Earl Jodon: A Brief Biography

Since his early youth, Earl Jodon has had an avid interest in riding.  Growing up on a farm, Earl had the opportunity to start riding at the age of five.  By the time he was six, he had already competed at the local level, representing his family's farm at the Huntingdon show.  Earl rode in 4-H for nine years, resulting in trips to state-level competition three times.

During his college years at the Pennsylvania State University, Earl continued to develop his skills around horses.  He enrolled in a class that focused upon the breaking and training of two year old horses; after completing the course, he went on to assist in teaching it from 1990-1991.  Under the supervision of Ward Studebaker, Earl rode the two year olds Western, but the training was very dressage influenced--which reflects in his current teaching and training style.

In 1992, Earl opened his own farm, and has been teaching lessons ever since.  Placing equal emphasis upon teaching fundamentals and keeping riding exciting and enjoyable, Earl helps riders to develop from uncertain beginners into confident competitors.

Earl has competed in numerous A-rated jumper and hunter shows.  He also enjoys attending local shows to support his students and have some fun in the Gambler's Choice, as showcased below.

(Earl can also compete over 3' verticals...without a horse.)
